Baby Girl Scrapbook in a Tin

Here is another of those Scrapbook in a Tin...this one for a Baby Girl! I recently got into these and am now addicted! I plan to make one for every occasion. I'm so excited! I enjoy finding the right papers and matte colors. This scrapbook uses a great DCWV paper that has Pink Baby Blocks all over it with big letters. The matte is from my trusy collection of Bazzil...I love the texture...it add such a touch of elegance and looks rich. Sometimes Textured Cardstock can be a challenge to stamp on but I like to use Pallette Noir (well inked) and just press firmly long enough for the ink to soak in...works like a charm!

Finally I used two little flowers, layered and secured with a silver brad. I really like how the two tone flower complements the colors in the background paper!

Another Baby Onesie...

Here is another Baby Onesie...this idea I got from Jen Carter! I was reading her Discontinued TAC Stamp list...and saw this adorable onesie...it convinced me to buy the TAC 'Love and Joy' set! The first onesie I tried was this one...it is so simple you can't mess it up! Now of course being me...I HAD to practice a million times on paper just to see exactly what I needed to do.















After creating the Love and Joy Onesie I got bold...I LOVE monogrammed items and Monogram Onesie's were born (well with just a little help from Nicole Heady).

A little tip in making these...100% combed cotton...good quality...makes a much better impression. I mean you can get cheaper onesies but they are usually ribbed and I don't think the impression is quite as clean. As you wash these (trust me I tried it in my front loader on BOIL) the image will get softer...I like the look on combed cotton it looks muted and aged. On ribbed cotton it looks weird (the ribs show more).

Any stamp set will work to do this!! So get stamping!

Disclaimer: Do not stamp while on baby...they move too much and stamp will be smeared. LOL. No babies were hurt in the making of this onesie...unfortunately my 'babies' are too big for them.
Diatribe: Why is it when you finally learn how to do all these cool things...you're kid/family is too old to benefit! I mean I made a gorgeous Baby Feats journal to go with this outfit...something I totally could've used when my kids were little. I may stamp a few t-shirts for my toddler girl Bella).

I hope to start stamping some Valentines Day stuff pretty soon...I just have to locate it in the disaster area which is my basement stamp room after my frantic clean-up of the upstairs stamping space aka the dining room table. Wish me luck on my excavation!

Baby Gifts

I have been hesitating to post this...because my photography skills don't do my stamping skills any justice!!! It is a really cool idea that I got from Nicole Heady (PaperTrey)...is it me or is the lady just freakin' brilliant!

Essentially 4 close friends are due in March...I mean what were they all up to that night...was there some sort of party I wasn't invited to cuz I already had my second child...not fair! I would've gone for a third...maybe...well ask me that on a day when both kids aren't hacking out a lung, using up tissues a box at at time...ask me when they giggle or are sleeping quietly...then I definitely want another one ;-)

Sooo...enough said, but I have some baby gifts to get together for women that already have everything! So what do you get? Especially if you don't sew at all! (otherwise those matching burp cloths are adorable). Sorry I digress yet again....

Stamped Monogrammed Onesies! Yes ladies everyone wants one...and they are so totally cool. Best part about this...I bought this TAC set as my Half-Price item because it was more expensive...not because I was desparate to have it...and now it is totally and completely useful!

And just in case you were wondering...yes those are handmade origami boxes to package them in! A totally handmade gift...okay I bought the onesies but really! The trick to making these is...permanent ink...no watercolor (which is a shame as I would LOVE to do one with a peacock on it using Kaleidacolor inks) and combed cotton. Do not get cheap onesies as they are ribby and the ink looks all blotched!

I hope to make these and some matching stationery (to use as Thank You notes). The V and the R have already gone on their way to their new home clothing a set of twins, my sister's friend had. I also made my sister two onesie cards (pink and blue) to go with the boy/girl theme baskets she and my mother are gifting!

Bloomin' Babies!!!

I saw this card posted today on SCS by kimr and I just had to try it...well CASE it blatantly. This has got to be the CUTEST little card ever. The only decision I still need to make is whether I put a little sentiment inside or not.

Details, details...I used my Cuttlebug Bloom Dots again, which to me just SCREAMS Babies and Easter...can't wait to do one with a little bunny on the bib. I used my Super Jumbo Scallop Circle that I just got in the mail from PaperTrey...love them, they have all the scallop punches AND offer free shipping on them...what more could you want! I stamped this little flower from the TAC For All Seasons Set, a truly must have set...and very versatile. I've used it all week and haven't gotten a card that even looks similar! It has a little stamp (which all perfectly fit inside a 1" circle) for pretty much any occasion all year, even the start of school (an apple). So after I stamped my flower and watercolored it, I punched the bib then used my circle punch to make the neckline...finally I embellished with a little pink bow. And most importantly here is a link to the template!!!

The lace peeking out of the sleeves is just white cardstock scraps punched with the scallop punch again. The onesie snaps are made using MM pastel green mini brads. What else can be said about this card...other than it is freakin' adorable!!! The inside I just traced the pattern onto white cardstock again and cut inside the lines.

Thanks Dani! - aka cutest little baby book

If you haven't checked out Stamping Dani you do not know what you are missing!!! She has the best ideas and incredible tutorials to go with them. Well this is another CASE...although not as good as hers.

This is an imitation Bazzil MonoMini Album...if you are curious she has templates and everything! I just thought this would make the cutest...and I mean cute, little baby book for a new mother to record her thoughts on the baby.

So this is a long strip of paper 2.75" X 11" folded in half then folded inside itself...leaving a half inch channel. This does not make an exact square but it is close enough. I cuttlebugged the outside with Divine Swirls (sigh...don't make my mistake, cuttle after you fold not before or else the panels don't lie flat!). Punch holes on each side to thread the ribbon through. I stamped the main image in Palette Noir...that adorable little bundle is from TAC Special Delivery...and mounted it on a pale yellow scalloped square (mega size).

The inside is 3 sheets white cardstock 2.5" X" 5", use a really good punch (like you use to set eyelets) and punch through all the layers (including the green). I stamped the outside edge of each page with a stamp from TAC Paisley Rocks. I used Palette Viridian Leaf, but stamped off a few times to make it really faint.

That's about it! But seriously check out Dani's instructions they are fabulous.

Also I just hit a milestone...I'm 225th on the top 50 list...so coming up is Blog Candy to celebrate! Any ideas what I should do? This is my first one!! Chime in everyone.

Baby Pacifier Thank You Note Cards

I'm not sure I like these...but they were all I came up with when I was frantically (yes this seems to be a theme in my life...stamping frantically) trying to come up with quick and easy Teacher gifts (at the last minute) and a set of Thank You cards for my friend's impromptu baby shower!

They are flat 4.25" X 5.5" note cards with the TAC Baby Pacifier stamped in Palette Paris Lights and Viridian Green with the "thank you" sentiment from the TAC All Occasion set. I ran the coordinating ink pad around the edge to add some interest...I thought these were just way too white.

I also stamped the A2 envelopes to match. Here is a close up!

Another Baby...is there something in the water?

Yup two more babies!!! There is definitely something in the water...or perhaps air as one is in NZ and the other MD. I was boring this time as it was Christmas...I was stressed (trying to send the New Baby gift with the Christmas card and the Thank you for BD card...yes I'm a one stop shopping sort of lady). So I altered my blue boy card and made a pink girl card. I still think the design is very clean and fun!!! And hey...I finally did some stamping!!!! YaY!!!

Uh Oh though....my table is now under 2 feet of stuff already! How the heck does that keep happening! Two hours of cleaning (putting away all the ribbon, paper...you get the idea), 4 hours of paper scrap sorting (okay I'm insane) for One Christmas dinner...2 minutes to make a card....priceless? Absolutely!!!

Baby Boy Congratulations!!

Well I REALLY needed to do some Baby Boy Cards. I mean one "baby" is almost 6 months old...good thing I buy 12 month+ stuff... The second baby is two weeks old and the son of one of my Mom's Club friends. As a rule I don't like the Mom's Club because they dictate too much which one you can join...and my local one stinks. However because of my wacky address...let's just say my town is one place, I'm located in another and my zip code is in a completely different area...phew got all that. But in this one instance it got me into a REALLY cool and active club. And as I was bringing dinner to the new mom that night and needed to drop off the little gift I got her...I needed a card.


Anyhoo, these two cards were literally thrown together! The pacifier is a TAC stamp but I don't know how old (naughty EBAY shopper that I am). I stamped it in Palette Starry Night on white cardstock and mounted this on TAC Navy Cardstock. I must admit I was a cheapskate when it came to cardstock...hey I've only been stamping 1 year I'm still learning...but I am a complete convert now. The weight, texture and depth of color in the TAC cardstock is AMAZING...I can't wait to order some Claret (red) cardstock. Now back to the card...I do like to diatribe so...the textured greyish base is just a Joann's Card Box special. I have had them for about a year...so I just might need to start using them! And did I mention I had to throw this card together asap! Thanks for looking!!
